CAREvolution empowers education and community through promoting care and building a better world.

Meet the founder

Jimmy Edwards is a passionate and innovative education leader dedicated to transforming how communities learn together. With experience across public, private, international, nontraditional, and homeschooling settings, Jimmy brings a unique perspective to reimagining education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master of teaching in mathematics education, and an education specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Virginia.

Jimmy’s doctoral research at UVA used community-based participatory methods to explore collaborative learning values, strengthening trust, synergy, and shared ownership among students and educators. Building on this work, Jimmy now leads the CAREvolution—a movement to ignite curiosity, compassion, and care in learning worldwide. Through the CAREducation Foundation, he provides scholarships, grants, and sponsorships that fuel student and community learning. CAREducation certifies learners and educators to lead with care, while the CARE Society connects a global learning network empowering students and families to take ownership of their learning.

At the CARE Learning Hub in Alexandria, Virginia, Jimmy brings these principles to life, partnering with local organizations, schools, families, businesses, and creators of all ages to build a vibrant, project-based collaborative learning community.
