The product is the CARE Learning Framework, our through-line on the “what” and “how” of great teaching and learning:
What is “Life-Readiness”? What is important to know and understand upon graduation?
What are the “big ideas” of great learning, teaching, decision-making, and collaboration?
The CARE Learning Framework: Research Origins
What can we all agree needs to be Common Knowledge and Common Sense in learning and education?
This was a guiding question in the doctoral research of Mr. Jimmy Edwards at the University of Virginia beginning in 2019.
We can all agree that in education, we should at least have “the basics” down.
But… what basics?
In his participatory research, Mr. Edwards and thousands of diverse students, parents, educators and leaders, business owners, politicians, and other community members built The CARE Learning Framework—a common vision for learning in education. The CARE Learning Framework points to our commonly understood what and how of learning effectively in Pre-K through 12 educational environments.
This vision is our shared effort to prepare young people to thrive as “Life-Ready” graduates in the real world alongside our existing and future businesses and communities:
